We are preggo with #2 and compiling a list of things we need to re buy. One item I really want is a nice high chair. With our first son my MIL bought a simple booster seat that had a tray. We began feeding our son solids at 4 months and he just seemed sooo uncomfortable in it, we had to put blankets in it to keep him from tipping over and for comfort. He didnt act like he liked it until he was 9 months old. Since money is tight my husband says we should just buy another booster seat with a tray since its cheap and worked with our first. Maybe my nesting instinct is outta control but I did some research and I think this would be the best buy for us! Its a Graco 4-1 high chair! Not only will it grow with our child (and future children) but it can even seat 2 kids at once! Which is a plus because our boys will be 20 months apart! We just purchased a highchair for but it doesn’t have any ability to convert (which I think would be especially handy if you are visiting people who do not have a highchair, just bring over the booster). Very handy. I agree that a baby needs a regular highchair not just a booster. They are much more comfortable and make feeding time that much easier. Even if you didn’t buy this one I would suggest buying a high chair anyways (but one that costs less so your husband will agree to it!) And since you are planning on having more kids you would get more use out of it down the road.

What can I say? I’m a damn billionaire and spending a small fortune on a few chairs doesn’t bother me too much.
This chair is well worth the money and I suggest you cash in your 401K immediately and buy as many as you can while you still can.
Perhaps you can take out an ad in the penny saver and sell your entire living and dining room furniture suites to finance this endeavor? You won’t be sorry. Move your TV and this chair into the kitchen along with the home theater (alternatively move fridge to TV room).

  We are TTC baby #1, so I don’t own any of these, but have friends with just about all of them, or have babysat or nannied for people with them. My favorite is the metoo, it seemed to be the easiest to deal with and get on and off tables. According to friends, the Hippo is a pain to clean. I really like the fast table, but it seems sort of small. I would suggest getting one of the hook ons for travel and restaurants, etc. and if you have the space and money to get the Stokke. It is awesome and I have never met anyone with a complaint!

“Romeo, Romeo, Where for art thou, Romeo? “ Right in Atlanta’s very own Shakespeare Tavern, that’s where. Shakespeare was never meant to be read, it was meant to be preformed! And the marvelous people at The Shakespeare Tavern know it. They put on productions of a William Shakespeare play once every month, however they perform Romeo and Juliet year round for all of the high school students like myself, and they do an amazing job at that. Whether it be the amazing actors, the supreme lighting, or the venue itself The Shakespeare Tavern did not let down.

The audience’s favorite actor was by far Daniel Parvis, who did an extraordinary job at playing Romeo’s best friend, Mercutio. He made it much easier for Shakespeare virgins like myself to understand the complex language with his mannerism, and you could very well tell he knew exactly what he was talking about. He made eye-contact during his performance, making you feel so much more for his character so that when Mercutio died at the end of the first act it was not surprising to hear the surrounding awe’s coming from the female individuals in the audience – the fact that he wasn’t hard to look might have helped a little. Daniel Parvis made the first act comical and engaging, without him it became the tragedy that is, Romeo and Juliet.

When morning comes, you expect a sunrise. When Romeo was leaving Juliet’s room through the balcony the morning after their first night as man and wife, you get exactly that. A beautiful red-orange glow slowly lights up their faces as Juliet exclaims, “Nights candles are burnt out, and jocund day stands tiptoe on the misty mountaintops.” However, from the seats on the balcony it is hard not to look up to the close ceiling top at the source of the light. Though, if you are not the exceedingly curious person that I am, or if you aren’t sitting on the balcony, then you should be able to enjoy the exceptional lights that still allow you to appreciate the excellent acting.

The building itself sets the stage for the play. You feel as if you have stepped back in time, from the rustic wooden floors, tables, and chairs. Or the balcony surrounding the stage, it gives you the sense that you are in the late 1500’s with the characters you are seeing. On the other hand, you have to remember that The Shakespeare Tavern is a dinner theatre. Meaning, you eat while watching the performance. With only a fifteen minute intermission, it barely gives you enough time to eat. The rustling of bags, and opening of cans and wrappers was not the background noise I wanted to hear while Romeo poisoned himself as he kissed Juliet one last time. Although, I do imagine it would be different going for a dinner performance where you eat from their restaurant, and not at lunch when numerous teenagers bring their own pre-packaged food, hence the rustling of bags.

“Romeo, Romeo, Where for art thou, Romeo? “ Yes it was at Atlanta’s very own Shakespeare Tavern. That’s where I found my interest in Shakespearean theatre. For 12 dollars a ticket, a very reasonable price for the performance you are getting, I am already talking to my family about going next month to view their next production of one of Shakespeare play [note to self: re-write last sentence] The performance, the technical aspects, and the overall ambiance make this an experience you don’t want to miss.

Walking through the double doors of the gym, the smell of sweat began to overwhelm us. I could hear the occasional squeak of the players’ shoes, the slap of the ball as it hit the player’s hand, and the bounce of the ball as it landed on the opposite side of the court. Cautiously, my friend and I took a seat on stage to watch our future coaches play a pick up game. It was a week before my freshman year of high school, and I had to decided to try out for the freshman volleyball team. Volleyball had been a large part of my life since I first started, in the sixth grade. Although it was primarily a social activity, I loved the adrenaline rush that it gave me. As I continued to watch the coaches play, the prospective players started to file in and take their seats in front of the stage in the gym. This is where my week officially started. The tryouts included the first week before school, as well as the first week of the academic year. Needless to say, I was also eager to finally be in high school, especially since this first year of high school was the beginning step into adulthood. As the week progressed, I put all of my effort into the tryout. I remember always telling my peers “good job” when there was an ace, or “nice try” when the ball went out of bounds. Friday night approached sooner than I expected, and I remember feeling nervous to find out who had made the team. At 10:00 p.m. on Friday night, my friend, Jean, and I hurried over to the campus to be the first ones able to see the list.
Running through the halls, we finally approached the girls’ locker room where the list of team players was taped to the door. This piece of paper would determine the future of my high school volleyball career. As we reached the paper, I scanned for my name…It wasn’t there. Jean did the same, and she realized that her name wasn’t on the list either. Disappointed in ourselves, we both agreed that there was always club season, and the ability to tryout next year. Fortunately for Jean, her mother was there as well, and she quickly looked over the Junior Varsity list. Jean had made Junior Varsity, but I was still left without a team. I sat there wondering, “What did I do wrong?”. This question was still unanswered in my head, and so on Monday morning I decided to talk to the coach and see how I could improve my skills for next year.
That Monday morning was dreary; the day was hazy as I made my way down to the same locker room I had been to just three nights before. Walking into the coach’s office gave me chills; my palms started to sweat, and I didn’t know how I was going to phrase my question. Politely, I asked for a bit of her time, although inside I was wrestling with my fears. Typically, confrontation was not one my strong points. I was accustomed to having people “walk all over me.” But this time I was going to stand up for what I believed in, but in a kind way, of course. She noticed me from the tryouts and attempted to tell me why I didn’t make the team. It became slightly apparent to me that I may have been confused with someone else who had made the Junior Varsity team. Our names were similar, but I guess it was just her luck that she made the team. I thanked the coach for her time and left the office, feeling worse than when I had walked in. I decided to make the best of this situation and walk over to my middle school, where I had been so comfortable for the last three years.
After school that day, I realized I had another option. When I approached my middle school, I ran into the chair of the athletics department. This was my chance to make my situation better; I explained what had happened and he offered me a job as a assistant volleyball coach. I quickly grabbed the offer and headed down to the gym for my first day of work. The only difference between this job, and a typical job, is that I was not paid. This fact didn’t matter. My reward was in those kids’ faces when they greeted me before each practice, or joked around with me while learning to play the sport that I loved. By the end of the season, I had not just had volleyball experience, but I had made the lives of a few seventh graders more fun. Sixty-hour later, and I realized that it’s not just volleyball that I loved, but the community service aspect of the experience and helping others. The season ended, and for the following year, I had decided to assist with the same team. Once those eighth graders left middle school for the next stage in their lives, I decided community service is what I wanted to do.
Junior year was approaching fast, and a few of my friends and I decided to formulate our own community service club. Later our club became formally known as, Miramonte Reach Community Service Club.
